IRVING WESLEY HALL'S 4-PART SERIES ON DU WEAPONS DANGERS
| Satirist and "clergy person" Irving Wesley Hall has posted a sly four-part series on the dangers of depleted uranium weapons on his website NotInKansas.us ... The first part is titled "Dick Cheney is No Wizard of Oz," the second "Dick & Hillary's Dirty Little Secret," the third "Depleted Uranium for Dummies" (quite detailed), along with a version in Spanish, and the fourth "GIs, Beware Radioactive Showers." Hall really has the courage of convictions. He never answers e-mail and his phone is disconnected. He is first and foremost a satirist. Now, how does that make him any kind of expert in DU. He reminds me of Cathy Garger; they both have a certain inflammatory style to their writing, but don't have the scientific background to know what they are writing about. Hall claims that DU is in the shower water of GIs in Iraq. Anything as dense as DU oxide, which is insoluble, is not going to be in running water and certainly not climb the pipe to a crude field shower. It shows his complete ignorance. He should be sued by the proud veterans of the 42nd Rainbow Division whose insignia he mocks with his NotinKansasAnymore web page, but they must consider him to be harmless. They certainly have not seen how the fellow ignoramus fanatics and charlatans around the world parrot each other and echo back and forth.

I have corresponded with a geologist who specializes in materials suspended in running water and with a uranium geologist .. what I wonder is why anyone still flocks to the beaches of Rio de Janerio and why the beauties there still seem to wear as little as possible .. the sands of those beaches contain a natural Thorium bearing sand and are far more radioactive than Depleted Uranium!

Curious comment ... Irving Hall does respond to emails and his phone isn't disconnected, I spoke with him via phone yesterday. I'm not sure what Helbig is up to here, but his rants and flames and insults and scornful remarks remain part of the dialog, even if he typically plies misinformation, as in the above instance.

Well, Mr site owner, what exactly is disinformation that I have been plying. Anyone who takes an objective look at the information on this site and leaves their political hat home will find that you are the one who plies the disinformation. I did attempt to call Irving Westley Hall and I also attempted to e-mail him. I make a point of directly contacting anyone who practices deliberate misrepresentation. You blog people seem to be afraid of direct one on one discussion. You seem to have a pack mentality.
I use my name because I have absolutely nothing to hide and as a lifetime Democrat never had any use for George W Bush.

Mr. Helbig is widely known for carrying out an online campaign against anyone who raises concerns about health problems caused by depleted uranium. The jury may still be out on the effects of DU's low-level radioactivity on the human body when it's inhaled, but its effects as a heavy-metal toxin are indisputable. (By the way, DU's oxide can be broken down by natural chemical reactions and enter the water supply as a soluble salt just like any other oxide.) Hall does answer e-mails and has a working phone and well as a publish website, www.notinkansas.us, and he's recently published a satirical novel, The Einstein Sisters Bag the Flying Monkeys, which mentions DU but is primarily the story of three sisters, great-great-granddaughters of Albert Einstein who find themselves in a Christian Zionist charter school in Florida right before the 2000 election. The novel focuses on the intertwining agendas of the Christian Zionists and neocons of the Bush/Cheney crowd. It also is the fantasy of how the sisters stop the Bush election theft and the the 8-year nightmare we've lived through. DU and Gulf War syndrome are touched on, as are homophobia and global warming. Jesus even makes a major appearance.
